Nithin Thanissery is a PhD scholar trained in Cognitive Science at the Centre for Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences (CBCS), Prayagraj. He is currently associated with the Cognitive Neurology Lab and the Magnetoencephalography Research Centre, Department of Neurology, NIMHANS.
His research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of cognitive reserve and resilience across the ageing–dementia spectrum, as well as in epilepsy, using a multimodal framework that integrates neuroimaging, magnetoencephalography (MEG), and experimental psychology. He is particularly interested in examining how neural dynamics and structural-functional markers contribute to variability in cognitive outcomes.
In addition, his work explores the role of cerebrovascular imaging markers and their effects on cognition, with the broader aim of improving mechanistic understanding of brain–behaviour relationships in neurological conditions.
